This is not a franchise

Your own standalone travel business

You run your own self-employed, standalone travel business — not a franchise. You sell under the Travel Business Partners package travel arrangements, with customer money protected through our Trust Account with Protected Trust Services (PTS). You keep your own customers and brand, sell across a broad choice of approved suppliers, and are never directed to sell our own products.

The commercial model

You keep the majority of eligible commission

You retain 85% of eligible commission; the central business retains 15% to fund the technology, supplier relationships, training and support behind you.

Commission varies by supplier and is not guaranteed. This is not an earnings promise. Different terms may apply to company-provided leads or promotions, and commission is paid in line with supplier and booking-completion rules.

In plain English

How it works when you become a home-based travel agent

A closer look at what actually happens between deciding to join and taking your first booking.

Understanding how it works, step by step

People searching for how to become a home-based travel agent usually want the same thing: a clear, honest picture of what joining involves before they commit. With Travel Business Partners you are not buying a franchise. You start your own standalone, self-employed travel business and sell under the Group's Package Travel Regulations (PTR) arrangements, with customer money held in a Trust Account with Protected Trust Services (PTS). That structure gives your customers financial protection while you keep your own brand and your own customers.

Choose your membership and get set up

The journey begins when you choose to join. Membership is a one-off joining fee of £1,750 plus £35 a month, with no franchise fee, and a 1.3% transaction fee applies to payments taken by card. That membership unlocks everything you need to trade: a professional website, booking software, itinerary software, marketing templates, a social media manager, PTR compliance, access to all our global suppliers, our in-house bedbank and dedicated support.

Onboard, train and launch

Once you have joined, you complete onboarding and work through the online training academy at your own pace. You do not need travel industry experience to start. Training takes you from the fundamentals through to compliance essentials, so you can handle enquiries and build quotes with confidence. Alongside the academy you configure your website and systems, set up your branding, and get your quote and itinerary tools ready to trade.

Start selling and build repeat business

With your website live and your systems in place, you start selling. You handle real enquiries, build quotes across a broad choice of approved suppliers, and make your first bookings with support behind you. You keep up to 85% of eligible commission while the Group retains 15% to fund the technology, supplier relationships, training and support; commission varies by supplier and is not guaranteed. Over time you turn good service into repeat customers and referrals, growing at the pace that suits you. Results depend on your own effort and market, and this is self-employment rather than salaried employment.
